b. Materials it was made out of
c. Price of the sculpture
d. A brief description about the artist, what inspired them to create the design, early career highlights, where they exhibit their work, what they like to work with.
e. Why did YOU choose this particular sculpture??? What does it mean to you????

Making a point? A reminder? A shock? A jolt? A celebration? A congratulation? A look-at-me? A proclamation? A challenge? A slap? A dig? An inconvenient truth? Make a point!
In his current sculpture practice, John Allen (BCom, MBA) is using timeless symbols to express his inner journey of discovery, facing everything, avoiding nothing and building tension for real change.
John Allen has been working with wood for more than fifty years. He learned his craft in classes from 1969 to 1986. For most of his working life, he has been working in strategic planning and governance that he has found enjoyable although he has always felt a deep restlessness.

Homework - week 2, Term four.1. Our big event this term is our Flag Day ceremony. This is your opportunity to apply for the flag that you feel most passionate about. This could be because you were born there, or you have a close connection with this country because you lived there or have been on holiday there. Click here to see how your letter must be set out. Note the way Mrs Burns states her reasons why she would like to carry the flag, but if she misses out she has a second request and gives a great reason why she would like to carry the other flag. Don't leave it too late, or you will be disappointed if you miss out.Click here to see the collection of CPDS flags.
2. Practise the questions for the PTA Olympic-Athon. Remember, we have the test on the 27th October, week three.

Watch our amazing scientist Dawson carrying out his fair test. Great to hear your question first Dawson. "What colours react more in different liquids, e.g. water, lemon, light milk, full milk? Great to see you thinking about your variables and changing one thing. You were spot on with your hypothesis - full milk would make more of an explosion because it contained more fat. Well done Dawson.

We are Self Managing Cyber Citizens because room 15:
- only use the Internet with adult/parent permission and supervision and we know to ask if we are unsure of how to use any ICT equipment.
- check with an adult before we give out personal information online
- use our first name only when publishing work online
- make sure we keep all passwords a secret
- take care of all technologies we use by treating equipment with care and respect (no food or drink close by) and tell an adult if anything isn't working or is damaged.
- do not download any software/apps or subscribe to anything online or via email without adult permission
- always ask permission from a teacher before using any technology
- click off a window and tell an adult straight away if we find or see anything online that is inappropriate (rude, racist, obsence) and makes us feel uncomfortable or we know is wrong. We know not to show other students
- tell an adult straight away if we are being bullied or attacked personally online
- search only for appropriate and education related content online

WELCOME BACK ROOM 15 - TERM THREE
Term 3
Welcome back room 15. Great to see you all looking so rested, relaxed and getting ready for another fantastic term. We have a lot on this term, so try really hard to be organised and ready. Each week we will be learning a different song from our production. This certainly will help our production practises to run smoothly. We will also look at the words of the song and identify spelling rules that we have learnt throughout the year and other vocab related activities.
This week homework is:
1. Learn all the words for the song "Pot of Gold"
Travel with us on a new adventure,
over the ocean blue.
Follow your heart and your dreams will all come true!
Waiting at the Rainbow's End,
Are treasures all untold,
so chase that rainbow, find your pot of gold!
Sailing away where the wind may take us,
never know what you'll find.
Leave all your cares and your worries far behind!
Magic happens every day,
Believe what you've been told,
So chase that rainbow, find your pot of gold!
We will be singing the tune in groups on Thursday morning, so be prepared to be the best sounding group!! You can't be unless you know the words!!
Answer the following questions from the song:
1. Can you find two words with double consonants from the song (remember they must be together, e.g. paddle. ) Think of three other words (not in the song) that have double consonants.
2. Find a word in the song that has a contraction, e.g. I'll
3. Can you think of two high level verbs for the word chase (you might need to use your dictionary)
4. Identify three nouns in the song
5. Find a word that has the plural rule, e.g. drop the y, if there is a consonant before and add ies. Can you think of two other words, (not in the song) where this rule will apply.
2. Writing:
Write a postcard to the class about one memorable moment of your holiday.
3. Maths
Complete a basic facts sheet. Congratulations to the following students last term who put so much effort into practising their basic facts each week. Well done Alex, Carise, Nicholas, Christian, Elz, Keira H, Keira B, Chloe B, Andrei, Betty, Jefferson. We can see all the hard work you have put into your basic facts in class.
Things to remember this week:
a. Sports practise tomorrow - bring your sports gear and equipment
b. Spelling test this Thursday. You just need to practise 15 of your list words.
c. Dot Day this Friday
d. Remember we are running every morning and if it is ok with your parents, can you pop a roll on into your bag. We look forward to the sumptous aroma wafting through room 15.

Science - Biome in a bag
We were given the following resources
clear cup
resealable storage bag
potting soil
beans or seeds
measuring cup
masking tape
We had to discuss what we would think would happen when we put the potting soil, beans, water inside the resealable storage bag. We knew we would need to put some water into the bag initially, but we had to record our hypothesis on how we thought the seeds would actually grow inside the resealable storage bag. We went into our groups and discussed the process that would actually take place inside the bag. After we made our hypothesis, we watched example biomes of how the water cycle works because once the plants are shut in the plastic bags, they will not need to be watered again.
